SOUTH CAROLINA CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMIT (CWP) COURSE

COURSE DESCRIPTION: To qualify attendees for a S.C. Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP). The course covers the legal aspects of carrying a firearm and the laws governing the use of lethal force, as well as safety, firearms and ammunition options.

AGE REQUIREMENTS: 21+

PREREQUISITES: None. However students may find Personal Instruction or the Intro to Handgun course beneficial in preparing for the CWP course.

TIME: Approx. 8 hours.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED: Handgun with at least 50 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection, and a valid South Carolina Driver License with current address on front. If needed, a firearm, eye and ear protection can be provided free of charge for course use. Ammunition is also available for purchase (use of City Arsenal firearms requires the purchase of in-store ammunition).

ACTIVITIES INVOLVED: A state-mandated class session followed by a written and shooting test. City Arsenal handles fingerprinting and the mailing of completed applications.

MAXIMUM ENROLLMENT: 14 per class.

OTHER INFORMATION: The cost of this class is all-inclusive and covers fingerprinting and certified letter to mail the application to SLED.
