COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to introduce new rifle owners to the basic use, safety and maintenance of semi-automatic rifles. Intro to Rifle begins with an overview of the basic design, features, and controls of the AR-15. Students will learn about various sighting systems, and zeroing sights and optics. The classroom session is followed by a range session, during which students will practice properly loading, firing, and unloading their rifles, as well as zeroing and adjusting sights and optics.

AGE REQUIREMENTS: 18+

PREREQUISITES: None.

TIME: Approx. 3 hours.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED: Semi-Auto rifle with sight (required) 100 rounds of ammunition, magazine, eye and ear protection, and a valid driver license. If needed, a firearm and ear protection can be provided free of charge for course use. Eye protection and ammunition are also available for purchase (use of City Arsenal firearms requires the purchase of in-store ammunition).

ACTIVITIES INVOLVED: Classroom and range session.

MAXIMUM ENROLLMENT: 5 students per class.
